Upon walking into Brewhalla, visitors are met with the sweet smell of yeast wafting from the adjoining brewery, Drekker, and the sights of a vibrant indoor market. Located on First Avenue North, just west of University, Brewhalla captures the tastes, sights, and sounds of a metropolis in the heart Fargo.
The indoor market and event space opened in March 2023. Brewhalla also has a hotel that opened more recently. The market houses some familiar Fargo favorites like Thunder Coffee, Nichole’s Fine Pastry, The Bird (a limited-menu version of Blackbird Woodfire Pizza), Luna Market, and Unglued. New businesses to the area include Cows & Co. Creamery along with Duchessa Gelato, Unicorn Park Fine Foodery, The Plant Supply, and Livin’ the Dream Pottery among others. Drekker’s beer is sold at bars on the first and second floors.
The ambiance of Brewhalla alone is worth the trip. The open floorplan includes plenty of seating options on both the first and second floors. My favorite spot is a table by the railing of the second floor overlooking the businesses and bustle of the market. I’ve enjoyed my share of gelato from one of those seats while catching up with friends or just hanging out with my teenager.

Unglued is a must stop at Brewhalla. It is the only business with a traditional storefront located near the hall that adjoins the market to the brewery. Unglued features a variety of handmade gifts by makers both local and from across the region. There is a craft space on the second floor where Unglued hosts classes and workshops for kids and adults.
My favorite stop is the Luna Market. It’s filled with specialty products you can’t get anywhere else in the area, including hard-to-find dried pastas, fruit spreads and chutneys, artisan crackers, pickled vegetables, and my absolute favorite vegan, artificial-dye-free sour blueberry gummy fish called Piggvar made in Sweden.
The beauty of an indoor market like Brewhalla is the variety in a condensed open space where people with different tastes can meet up and each find something to enjoy.
